This policy explains what personal data @jakedoesai (“I”, “me”) collects through jakedoesai.com, how it is used, and the rights you have over it. For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for the information described here.

What I collect

The only personal data I collect is the email address you provide when you subscribe to the newsletter, along with the fact and date of your consent. I do not collect names, payment details, or location data, and the site does not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Why I collect it, and the lawful basis

I use your email address solely to send you the weekly @jakedoesai newsletter — AI news and cheat sheets. The lawful basis is your consent, given by ticking the box when you sign up. I will not use your address for anything else, and I will never sell or rent it.

Who processes your data

To run the newsletter I rely on a small number of third-party processors, each with their own privacy practices:

• FormSubmit — receives the sign-up form submission and forwards it to my inbox.
• Google (Gmail) — stores the subscriber list and sends the newsletter.
• Vercel — hosts the website. Vercel may log technical request data (such as IP address) for security and performance, as is standard for web hosting.

How long I keep it

I keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the active list and added to a suppression list only so that you are not re-added by mistake.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to object to or restrict its processing. You can:

• Unsubscribe at any time by replying “unsubscribe” to any newsletter email, or
• Email jakedoesai.newsletter@gmail.com with any request about your data.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

jakedoesai.com is a static site and sets no cookies of its own. It does not run analytics or advertising trackers.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
